I'm delighted to be returning to the Institut français d'Écosse in Edinburgh this year as part of their wonderful Children's Book Festival, with my new picture book STICKY MILDRED…

Mildred LOVES being sticky and HATES having a bath. She loves ALL the sticky things, and sets off to find the stickiest, gooiest, ickiest things in the whole world.

But when Mildred gets too sticky, she finds herself in an enormous sticky ball, out of control, and hurtling towards the city…

A silly cautionary tale of all the best and most sticky things in the world, and why sometimes — sometimes — you just have to have a bath, hilariously illustrated by the brilliant RIKIN PAREKH (Totally Chaotic History, This Book Has Alpacas, Fly Tiger Fly).

So join me at the Institut français d'Écosse for some deliciously sticky nonsense (and watch me try to speak a few words in French 😬🇫🇷), with storytelling and drawing fun for ages 3+
