Wilomina: The Land of Dreams and Nightmares is a fast-paced graphic adventure novel. It really does shoot along, drawing you into the story within a few pages and constantly revealing surprises and twists. Wilomina is determined to find her brother and father, but she has her own problems, when a strange bite gives her some rather scary powers. Then there's the mysterious Mephisto, a cat with his own agenda, and more mysteries as the story goes on.
The artwork from Sandra Marrs is lush and confident, creating a dream-like world that is occasionally down-right creepy, and the script from John Chambers is light and easy to read. Reluctant readers will find themselves pulled in as well.
Perfect for fans of Spirited Away or Amulet, this is a rattling good read with gorgeous art. I can't wait for book two!
