Bereft and wounded, Will finds comfort in the sounds of the birds around him, and discovers an osprey nest with two chicks. When one is blown from its nest, Will is determined to save her, and in doing so, finds his own strength to heal.
There is so much to love about Bird Boy – the way it touches on mental health issues, loss, refugees, trauma – and all told around a mission to save an osprey chick. It's guaranteed to pull you in, and it's wonderfully written. Just lovely.
