Shortlisted for the Bookbug Picture Book Prize 2020!
Some awesome news I can finally share — The Prince and the Witch and the Thief and the Bears has been shortlisted for the 2020 Bookbug Picture Book Prize!
This is such an enormous delight, I've been beaming for months about it and dying to tell the world. The prize is for authors and illustrators resident in Scotland and the winner is voted for entirely by children in schools and nurseries across the country. AND … the shortlisted books are included in the Bookbug P1 Family Bag, gifted to every single P1 child in Scotland! And translated into Gaelic!
I love that the shortlist was picked by the children themselves (and the winner will be voted by them as well!) and I know that they particularly loved Jez Tuya's illustrations. We're in exalted company, too, alongside Morag Hood's fantastic Sophie Johnson: Unicorn Expert, and Meg McLaren's lovely book The Station Mouse. Good luck to everyone involved!
